Retail Activities

Foodland Ontario logo in your local retail store

Retail Activities

The retail portion of our consumer awareness campaign includes 14 full-time retail representatives (18 in the summer months) that visit over 1200 stores in Ontario. They place point-of-sale materials aimed at driving consumer recognition of Ontario products.

In 2007 we placed nearly 350,000 pieces of point of sale materials and just over 165,000 linear feet of basewrap.

At each store we placed an average of 42 point-of-sale materials.

We also placed 14,000 “5 to 10 a Day” signage cards that support growers, the
Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke foundation.

We run an annual retail contest in partnership with our grower-groups. The
contest encourages retailers to showcase fresh Ontario produce in their stores, using prominent displays and creativity.  This is a winning combination for producers, consumers  and retailers!
