| 1 cup (250 mL) |
Quaker Oatmeal (old fashioned large flake or
quick cooking) |
| 1/3 cup (75 mL) |
all-purpose flour |
| 3/4 cup (175 mL) |
lightly packed brown sugar |
| 1/2 tsp (2 mL) |
salt |
| 1/3 cup (75 mL) |
melted butter or margarine |
| Apple Mixture: |
|
| 5 |
peeled and sliced large Ontario Cooking Apples |
| 1 tbsp (15 mL) |
lemon juice |
| 2 tbsp (25 mL) |
brown sugar |
Preheat oven to 375ºF (190ºC).
Topping: In bowl, combine oatmeal, flour, brown sugar
and salt. Stir in melted butter until crumbly. Set aside.
Apple Mixture: Place apples in a greased 9-inch (2
L) square baking pan. Sprinkle with lemon juice and brown
sugar. Sprinkle crumb mixture evenly over apples. Bake 30
to 40 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden
brown.
